Agreement

By installing the SnapZyn Chrome extension or using the SnapZyn website ("Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. SnapZyn is operated by Lakshman ("we", "us").

What SnapZyn Does

SnapZyn is a Chrome extension that captures browser tab screenshots, extracts text via local OCR, generates AI-powered metadata, and lets you search and query your screenshot library using natural language. Screenshots are stored locally on your device by default.

Your Content

You own everything you capture with SnapZyn. We don't claim any rights over your screenshots, extracted text, or metadata. When content is sent to our servers for AI processing, it is used solely to provide the service and is not retained after processing.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to capture and store the content you screenshot. Don't use SnapZyn to capture content you don't have permission to copy.

Plans & Pricing

SnapZyn offers the following plans:

• Free ($0): Up to 250 screenshots per month, OCR, AI summary and tags on all captures, keyword search, URL provenance, 50 Ask ⌘J queries per month, and manual annotation tools. Semantic search, Debug Mode, Screenshot Diff, auto-redact, Smart Collections, and bulk import are not available on the free plan.
• Founder's License ($19 one-time, first 100 buyers): 300 screenshots per day, full AI features including semantic search, 50 Ask ⌘J queries per day, 50 Debug Mode calls per month, 20 Screenshot Diff calls per month, auto-redact, Smart Collections, bulk import, ZIP export, all v1.x feature updates, and a locked 50% discount on the future Pro subscription. This license is non-transferable. Available to the first 100 buyers only.
• Standard Lifetime ($29 one-time):Same features and limits as the Founder's License. Available after the first 100 Founder's Licenses sell out. Includes a locked 25% discount on the future Pro subscription.
• Pro ($5/month or $48/year, launching with v1.1): Layers on top of any lifetime tier or available as a standalone subscription. Unlimited Ask, Debug, and Diff usage (subject to fair use), MCP server access, cross-device sync, priority support, and access to the latest cloud AI models as they become available.

Refund Policy

All paid plans come with a 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. To request a refund, email support@snapzyn.com within 14 days of your purchase. Refunds are processed via Dodo Payments.

Fair Use

Monthly AI usage limits (Ask ⌘J, Debug Mode, Screenshot Diff) are enforced server-side. Free and Lifetime plans have specific monthly caps as described in the plan details. Pro plan usage is unlimited but subject to a fair-use policy: we reserve the right to rate-limit accounts that exceed 3× the stated monthly cap of the highest non-Pro tier on a sustained basis. This is an anti-abuse measure, not a normal usage restriction — 99% of users will never encounter it.

Lifetime License Terms

"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the SnapZyn product. Both Founder's License and Standard Lifetime include all feature updates within the v1.x release series at no additional cost.

If the product is discontinued, lifetime license holders will receive at least 90 days' notice and a final data export tool. Since SnapZyn is local-first, your screenshot library remains accessible in your browser regardless of service status.

Acceptable Use

Don't use SnapZyn to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Capture sensitive information (passwords, banking screens) without understanding the local storage implications
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the extension
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute SnapZyn
• Abuse our AI processing API (automated bulk requests, scripting against rate limits, or using the extension in automated pipelines)

AI Processing

SnapZyn uses AI services (including OpenAI and Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano where available) to process your screenshots. AI outputs (tags, summaries, search results, debug explanations) are generated automatically and may not always be accurate. We don't guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content. Do not rely on SnapZyn's AI for critical decisions without verification.

Data & Privacy

Your use of SnapZyn is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The short version: screenshots stay local by default, server processing is temporary and limited to extracted text and small thumbnails, we never see your full-resolution images, and we don't sell your data.

Service Availability

We aim to keep SnapZyn's backend services available but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Core features (capture, local OCR via Tesseract.js, keyword search, annotation, threads, collections) work offline and without our servers. AI-powered features (Ask ⌘J, Diff, Debug Mode, cloud embeddings) require an internet connection and our API.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. If we shut down the service entirely, Founder's License and Lifetime License holders will receive at least 90 days' notice and a full data export.

Limitation of Liability

SnapZyn is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any data loss from local storage clearing, browser updates, or extension uninstallation. We strongly recommend using the ZIP export feature to back up important screenshots regularly.

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for SnapZyn in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes take effect 30 days after we notify you via email or in-extension notice. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
