Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before you add SnapZyn to Chrome. Still stuck? Email support@snapzyn.com or read the full support guide.
How do I install SnapZyn?
SnapZyn is live on the Chrome Web Store. Add it to Chrome in one click — it works on macOS, Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS. The free tier is ready to use immediately; the $19 Founder's License unlocks full AI features for the first 100 buyers.
How is this different from CleanShot or Apple Visual Intelligence?
CleanShot makes capture beautiful but has no memory or search. Apple Visual Intelligence analyzes one photo at a time, no library. SnapZyn turns every screenshot you've ever taken into a searchable, askable knowledge base. The ⌘J interaction is unique to SnapZyn.
What about privacy? Do screenshots go to the cloud?
No. Screenshots live in your browser's local IndexedDB — never uploaded unless you opt into cloud sync (v1.1, off by default). Only extracted OCR text is sent to AI services. The image itself never leaves your device. On supported hardware, even the AI runs locally via Chrome's Gemini Nano.
Does it work on Windows or Linux?
Yes. SnapZyn is a Chrome extension — it works everywhere Chrome runs: macOS, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS.
What's included in the $19 Founder's License?
Everything: 300 screenshots / day, full AI features (50 ⌘J Ask / day, 50 Debug / month, 20 Diff / month), auto-redact, smart collections, bulk import, ZIP export, all v1.x updates, and a locked 50% discount on the future Pro plan. One payment, yours forever. First 100 buyers only — after that, Standard Lifetime is $29.
Can I use SnapZyn without AI?
Yes. Free tier gives you screenshot capture, OCR text extraction, keyword search, and manual annotation — no AI required. AI features are opt-in via paid plans.
Why not just use Notion or Apple Notes for screenshots?
Because they require manual filing. You won't tag 30 screenshots a week. SnapZyn does it automatically: capture → AI indexes in 5 seconds → searchable forever. Zero manual effort. Notion and Apple Notes are great for notes; SnapZyn is built for screenshots specifically.
Ready to make every screenshot findable?
